Fantasy Racing prep

Let the strategizing begin.

The PEAK Performance Fantasy Racing contest through IndyCar Nation brings together the excitement of weekly driver selections for the IZOD IndyCar Series’ diverse schedule of race venues and the competition for great prizes. Maybe there’s a smidge of pride in there, too.

Through the free season-long program that begins March 1, participants accumulate points based on their drivers’ on-track performance. Contestants select five drivers for each of the 17 races in 2010, but they’re allowed to select each driver a maximum of six times throughout the season. So go ahead and choose Scott Dixon or reigning series champion Dario Franchitti for the first six races of the season (four road/street course and two ovals). They’ll be parked for the duration.

Once registered, participants may enter the contest by submitting a race-specific driver lineup. There also are public and private leagues participants can join – just for bragging rights, of course. So chat up your friends to start a league of your own or join a public league.

Register for IndyCar Nation HERE so you’ll be all set when the PEAK Performance Fantasy Racing contest goes live March 1 for driver submissions for the inaugural Sao Paulo Indy 300 on March 14.

Oh, about the prizes for which participants will be aiming. The multi-faceted grand prize consists of a trip for the winner and guest to the IZOD IndyCar Series championship race Oct. 2 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, including:

• Round-trip airfare for two to Miami from the airport nearest the grand prize winner’s residence.
• Hotel accommodations for two nights.
• Round-trip ground transportation while in Miami.
• Two grandstand tickets, two pit/garage passes, pace car ride, Indy Racing Experience two-seater ride on the 1.5-mile oval, two hospitality passes.
• Opportunity to present the PEAK Performance Pole Award.
• Replica of Peak Performance Pole Award signed by all pole winners from the 2010 season.
• Invitation to the season-end celebration banquet.

Wait! There’s more.

Each weekly participant will be entered to win a Kymco scooter ($1,999 MSRP) at the end of the season, while an IZOD Vintage Indianapolis Motor Speedway Centennial T-shirt will be a weekly prize to one contestant.
