Vandergriff to run full 2011 season for C&J Energy Services

As the 2011 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series opener nears, Excitement and change are in the air for Vandergriff Motorsports Top Fuel team owner and driver Bob Vandergriff, who will be completing the full 22-race tour with C&J Energy Services this year.

“It’s been a great honor to represent C&J for the past two seasons on a partial schedule and I can’t express my sincere appreciation that they have seen the direct benefits of being involved in NHRA Drag Racing, which motivated them to increase their support and has allowed us to compete for a full season this year.”

Besides receiving a full-season commitment from C&J Energy Services, the team has hired Richard Hogan as crew chief. Hogan will work with Jim Dupuy in leading the Vandergriff Motorsports Top Fueler in 2011.

Another recent change occurred when Vandergriff Motorsports moved their entire racing operation from Alpharetta, Ga., to Brownsburg, Ind., aka “Nitro Alley,” over the off-season.

“Once we received the full-season commitment from C&J Energy Services, the time was right to step up our program even more,” said Vandergriff. “We already had a great crew and have added to it which, along with putting our operation right in the heart of the drag racing industry in Brownsburg, enhances our chances of success this season.”

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, C&J Energy Services is a provider of hydraulic fracturing, coiled tubing and pressure pumping services to the oil and gas industry in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.

Josh Comstock, founder and CEO of C&J Energy Services, is excited to partner with Vandergriff Motorsports for the complete 2011 NHRA season.

“Through C&J Energy Services’ sponsorship of Bob’s Top Fuel dragster I am able to meet with current and potential customers while enjoying top notch, high octane entertainment. I have found that by providing unique one-on-one access to its racers and their crews, the NHRA provides an ideal venue for my business development efforts,” said Comstock. “I believe C&J Energy Services’ partnership with Vandergriff Motorsports increases my company’s name recognition and my customers love spending racing days with Bob and his crew. I am excited to have C&J Energy Services serve as the primary corporate sponsor for Bob’s Top Fuel drag racer for the entire 2011 NHRA season.”

Vandergriff Motorsports recently tested in Florida and dialed in a new combination with their Brad Hadman dragster.

“With the support of C&J Energy Services we were able to completely update all of our equipment to the latest technology and are now on a level playing field with the top teams in our class,” said Vandergriff.

The Vandergriff team will begin the season in Pomona, Calif. for the 2011 Kragen O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals, Feb. 24-27.
