Bill Wood’s Some Things You Should Know: 12-02-21

Here are some Things You Should Know:

Teams already are arriving in Missouri for this weekend’s Rally in the 100 Acre Wood. (It’s from Winnie the Pooh!) Much testing is ongoing at the Bison Ranch where the landowner has private roads that he makes available for testing. Ken Block is there now. Subaru has used it for a couple years. Antoine L’Estage will be testing on Wednesday, probably at the same place. First gravel stages of the North American season. Lots of competition this weekend. We’ll be covering it along with World Rally Sport.

Ford World Rally Team driver Jari-Matti Latvala says his Rally Sweden victory has removed all the pressure which landed on him when he left round one with no points following his crash on Rallye Monte-Carlo. Latvala’s victory in Karlstad (He talked about the win on Tech House & Speed) moved him straight into fourth place in the championship standings, helped him forget his troubled start to the season and drew praise from his former world champion team-mate Petter Solberg. Jean-Philippe Dayraut won race one at the Lans en Vercors round ahead of Olivier Panis and Jacques Villeneuve. Evens Stievenart beat Alain Prost and Jean-Baptisted Dubourg in race two.

Louis Gervoson won the first race, whereas Andrien Tambay won the second and Christophe Ferrier the third race from the Andros Trophy Electric round, which took place at Isola 2000.

Now, What Do You Think? this week: Ford WRT lead driver Jari-Matti Latvala won Rally Sweden to move into 4th in the WRC points. But he’s behind teammate and 2003 WRC champion Petter Solberg in third. Will Latvala finish ahead of Solberg in the 2012 WRC points? Yes, Of Course! Or, No, That’ll be Tough! You can vote at www.ByBillWood.com. GET BUSY!! Take a minute to vote.
