The 2011 racing season will be a very exciting one for young Canadian driver Matthew Di Leo

Matthew Di Leo will pilot a USF2000 car this season with Brian Stewart Racing
Innisfil, ON – In the karting world Matthew Di Leo has joined, along with personal tuner Adam Kretschmer, the 3-S Go Karts racing team. He will be piloting the new EA chassis line, in two of the most competitive and fastest classes in the world, which includes the Rotax DD2 and the Formula 125 ICC Shifter Kart class. The RES Precast sponsored driver has pushed himself to come to speed quickly with several strong performances thus far, including 2 top 5 results in the first round of the Florida Winter Tour in the ICC shifter class.

Matthew has been at pace in the DD2 class matching speeds with some of the most famous names in the sport, including world champions and current open wheel car racing competitors as well.

The third class of racing the young Canadian pilot will be shifting his attention to, will be an open wheel USF2000 Formula Car Series. He has joined with Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame member Brian Stewart and Brian Stewart Racing. So far they are excited by the curve at which Matthew has been able to learn and understand the driving dynamics of an open wheel formula car, both on the oval and road courses. The results so far show the level of promise this young man has, already placing 5th in his first race, then followed by a few small changes to the car and returning for an improved 3rd position finish. These results have placed Matthew into 3rd place in the USF2000 Road To Indy Winter Series.

The future looks bright for the humble, friendly and personable young man and with the aid of great sponsors as well as family and mentors. The sky is the limit for this young man’s future on his quest to become the next big name in Canadian motorsports.

Matthew would like to take this opportunity to thank some of his sponsors and racing team members for their continued trust in him and their never ending assistance, in shaping him into the driver he would like to become.
