GoRacingTV Minute Sun April 4 2010

Welcome to the GoRacingTV Minute, a 60 second update on the new and happenings in the sport of racing.

Grand am.com reports that Jordan Taylor will do double duty at Barber Motorsports Park on April 10. APR Motorsport has announced that the 18-year-old driver from Apopka, Fla., will co-drive the team’s No. 01 Audi S4 with Ian Baas in the Grand Sport division of the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.

Indycar.com is asking the questions “Who’s hot heading to inaugural Barber race?” Will Power is a given with consecutive victories to kick off the season, but who else is hot heading into the inaugural Indy Grand Prix of Alabama
Well, there’s Justin Wilson, who if not for a cut tire late in the opener in Brazil – would have a pair of top-five finishes. Then there are Raphael Matos, who’s appeared to have made significant strides with two top 10s, and reigning IZOD IndyCar Series champion Dario Franchitti, Tony Kanaan has a couple of top 10s, as does Helio Castroneves.

The 2.38-mile, 17-turn Barber Motorsports Park, though, is the wild card. Most drivers tested for two days at the venue in February to get the lay of the land and a feel for their car. But it was uncharacteristically cold during the test, not providing true data, and it’s a new venue for the drivers.

That’s it for this 4st day of April 2010. Check back with us on Tuesday for another GoRacingTV Minute.
