Get your name to appear on the No. 12 Lola!

In one of the more interesting sponsorship twists in the history of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón, fans that enter the promotional code “ALMS” while registering or transferring domains to NameSilo this season will have the option to have their names or domain appear on the #12 Autocon Motorsports Lola that will return to the Series beginning at Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport.

Fun from the long-standing privateer team and for Series fans won’t stop there. During the very popular pre-race grid walk that occurs just prior to the start of each race and beginning July 24, fans whose names appear on the orange prototype will have the opportunity to stand next the car, point to their name, and snap pictures using their own smart phones or cameras.

“We’re anxious to get back in the thick of it,” said team owner and manager Michael Lewis. “We took stock of where we have been and where we are trying to go, made some changes in the offseason and will be ready to come back for the final six races of the season in a competitive and fun way.”

The Autocon Lola B06/10-AER spent the better part of the last few months in England at the factory being freshened and returned to a just-as-new state, under the guidance of Lewis and Tony Burgess, an aeronautical engineer himself. “We ran the car hard for a number of years and it showed signs of wear last season. In order to be competitive, we all felt it was important for Lola to evaluate everything,” said Burgess.

In early July the team will hold a multi-day test at Miller Motorsports Park. The Canadian Burgess will join American Chris McMurry in the cockpit for all six races, and the duo will be joined by another American – Bryan Willman – at ModSpace American Le Mans Series Monterey presented by Patrón and Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda. The three drivers are familiar names to the Series and fans with 155 American Le Mans Series starts between them.

“We realized that Sebring was out of the question and the next couple of races were ones that we didn’t want to rush to get to, as we hadn’t done all the work we wanted to do on the car to make it more reliable,” Burgess explained. “That formulated our plan that the very first ‘must-do’ race is Mosport.”

NameSilo is one of the fastest growing places for consumers and businesses to register and manage their Web site addresses (also called domains). Its founder and Internet entrepreneur Michael Goldfarb says the ICANN-accredited business was started to give consumers the lowest everyday prices available, as well as an alternative to the common problems experienced with other domain registrars including confusing pricing tactics, constant bombardment of unnecessary up-sell options, and nickel-and-diming for services that should be free.

“Our competitors tend to promote low prices that inevitably increase by the time you order, or when you request extra services to improve the experience, services or security. We’re offering the lowest everyday prices and all of our extra service options are completely free. People love using NameSilo and knowing we don’t play games or bother them with up sells,” adds Goldfarb.

Whether located in the U.S. or anywhere around the globe, anyone who visits NameSilo at or who enters the promotional code ALMS upon check out will be prompted to indicate if they’d like their personal name or any of their domains to appear on the Autocon Lola. Names will be added two weeks prior to each race beginning with the Grand Prix of Mosport.

“This might be the most inexpensive way ever to get your business name on race car,” said Lewis jokingly about registering domains that cost around $6 to $8. “Seriously, this is more about having a delivering great value to consumers and having good time with those who enjoy racing and want a special, personal reason to root for a team.”

If you are interested in registering a domain for your business, to protect family member’s names from being secured by others, or have names for products you operate or have invented, now’s the time to turn to NameSilo. Anyone transferring a domain to NameSilo will retain any period of time remaining on that registration as well as an additional year added to their expiration as part of the transfer process (for instance, if you have a domain registered at another registrar with six months remaining on that registration, upon transfer to NameSilo, that domain will have one year and six months remaining upon transfer completion).
