2012 Britcar Championship Round 2, Donington

This was a race were any form book was thrown away, with a dice for the eventual win between two unexpected, but not unlikely candidates. The Sub-Zero Wolf Seat Supercopa of Craig Davies and Adam Jones took the honours, but it could have gone to the canny strategy of the similar invitation entry machine of Bernard Hogarth and Stefan Hodgetts.

It was the two stunningly rapid Geoff Steel BMWs that locked-out the front row of the grid, the Richard Abra/Mark Poole CSL being three-quarters of a second faster than the M3 of Michael Symons and Keith Webster, whilst the rest languished more than a second adrift, row two being annexed by the Seat Supercopas of Hogarth/Hodgetts and Mark and Peter Cunningham. Mike Jordan/Nigel Ainge’s Honda Integra headed the Class 2 runners, half a second better than Carl Breeze/Tom Howard in a Ginetta G40, whilst Class 3 pole went to lone driver Harry Cockill in his Honda Civic, ahead of the Lohen Racing Mini, Martin Parsons and Chris Knox having a far better day than the last time out at Silverstone.
