The withering heat and violent thunderstorms that hammered New Jersey Motorsports Park this weekend may have contributed to the best Trans Am race of the year. Trans Am veteran Amy Ruman at the end was on the top step of the podium. She is the only woman to ever win a Trans Am event. The win in New Jersey was her second to go along with her victory at Road Atlanta last fall.
