Lamb Scores Fourth-Consecutive MX-5 Cup Pole

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.Todd Lamb, of Atlanta, Ga., earned his fourth-consecutive SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup pole in qualifying for Sunday’s Round Five race at Barber Motorsports Park, part of the Porsche 250 Presented by Legacy Credit Union weekend. Current point leader Marc Miller, of Holland, Mich., qualified second.

Driving the No. 84 AMG/Traqmate/Luna-C Racing MX-5, Lamb took some time to get up to speed on the 17-turn, 2.38-mile track. After coming in to make some adjustments to the car, Lamb ripped off a 1:43.072 (83.126 mph) to set the fastest time of the 30-minute qualifying session.
