Portsmouth, NH-Following the team’s third podium in the first four races of the 2012 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón just two weeks ago, Green Hornet Racing will head north of the border for this weekend’s Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport.

Competing in the no. 34 Fusion Trade Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, the team will run their very first outing at the ultra-treacherous Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. Located just one hour East of Toronto in the city of Bowmanville, Ontario, the circuit’s 2.46-mile layout is notorious for incidents and constant yellow flags. With an endless series of high speed corners with little runoff room, the key for the team will simply be to manage the event incident free.

With drivers Peter LeSaffre and Damien Faulkner caught in a tight championship fight in the GT-Challenge (GTC) category against the no. 22 of Cooper MacNeil, the team knows that the best points will come with a victory.

“We seem to have the car to beat at every track we go to,” stated Damien Faulkner, from Ireland. “If we can have an incident-free race, we’ll be right where we need to be for the win and the championship, we just need the luck to go our way. The crew here have done an incredible job. If you look at our last two results, we’ve been fourth and then second in spite of massive bad luck, so if you take that away, we can definitely be back to winning form.”

For Team Owner and Co-Driver Peter LeSaffre, the sentiment is the same.

“Damien seems to set the fastest lap everywhere we go, and that says something,” stated LeSaffre. “Our last two races showed decent results, but we had the ability to win both. We’re hoping this weekend is the chance to gain on the 22.”

With the 2012 season nearing the halfway point, this weekend’s race will play a pivotal role in the championship outcome.
