Skeen to drive for Cragar Wheels/CRP Racing at Mid-Ohio

HARRISBURG, N.C. – After sitting out Toronto, Cragar Wheels/CRP Racing will return to the SCCA Pro-Racing World Challenge Series at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge/Honda Indy 200 with young Rookie driver Michael Skeen, of Charlotte, NC, driving the Cragar Wheels/CRP No. 2 Corvette.

Skeen impressed CRP Team owner, Nicholas Short, with his pace against more seasoned drivers with superior equipment in only a few showings in the Trans-Am Series.

In 2010, Skeen has been a front row qualifier at each SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am race attended, setting the race lap record at Miller Motorsports Park and has had one start in Grand-Am Rolex GT Series at VIR. In 2009, after starting last due to a flat tire during qualifications in his Trans-Am debut at Road Atlanta, Skeen finished the race in 2nd place, breaking Boris Said’s track record set in 2002 and earning the Sunoco Hard Charger and Flowmaster Star of the Race Awards.

“He’s fast, and we decided to give a good, young driver a break,” says Short. “I think Michael will reward my faith with a good showing at Mid-Ohio.”

Rounds 8 and 9 will be held at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge/Honda Indy 200 August 6-8, 2010.
