GoRacingTV.com COVERS CHUMPCAR with Krider Racing
GoRacingTV.com sent its camera crew to Buttonwillow raceway to cover the ChumpCar Summer Sunset 14-hour enduro. The race began at 9:00 a.m. continued through the sunset and into the darkness until 11:00 p.m. when the checker fell after fourteen grueling hours of racing in the summer heat.
The event had its share of drama as both drivers and machines collapsed under the pressure of the long hard race. “Racing for 14-hours straight is hard for any race car,” said John Condren, founder of ChumpCar. “But doing 14-hours in a car that is only worth $500, now that is a real challenge!”
Crews raced against time to keep their low budget racers running as well as swapping out drivers and fueling cars during pit stops. During the event GoRacingTV.com embedded cameras with one of the competitors in the race, Krider Racing running their red #38 Big Sausage Pizza Delivery 1991 Acura Integra. The in-depth footage shows the organization, planning, and guts it takes to run a team in an endurance racing series. Whether it is the 24 Hours of Daytona racing a prototype or the 14-hours of Buttonwillow with ChumpCar endurance racing is endurance racing and it is all about survival until the finish.
Krider Racing, sponsored by Sampson Racing Communications, I/O Port Racing Supplies, Figstone Graphics and Carbotech Brakes take on the heat, the darkness, and the pressure of having cameras in their faces during the entire weekend, and try to show the world they can go the distance. Twenty other race teams and 14-hours of hard racing want to show the world they can’t. Check out the GoRacingTV.com episode and see who wins ChumpCar’s Summer Sunset 14-hours of Buttonwillow.
